Meet our team

The headquarters of the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) on Urease Inhibitors of Agricultural and Medicinal Interests is located in the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG; Pamulha Campus), Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Our multidisciplinary team includes dedicated scientists, professors, and students from the Brazilian institutions Agronomic Institute at Campinas, EMBRAPA Maize and Sorghum (MG), EMBRAPA Roraima, Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), Federal University of Ceara (UFC), Federal University of Espirito Santo (UFES, ES), Federal University of Goias (UFG), Federal university of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Federal university of Paraiba (UFPB), Federal university of Roraima (UFRR), Federal University of Sao Joao del-Rei (UFSJ), Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU), Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), State University of Londrina (UEL), State University of Montes Claros (UNIMONTES, and University of Sao Paulo (USP).

The NIST on Urease Inhibitors benefits from the collaboration of esteemed international researchers and institutions, including Atatürk University (Turkey), Istanbul Technical University (Turkey), the University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (USA), the University of Milan (Italy), Visva-Bharati University (India), and Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland).

Under the leadership of Professors Ângelo de Fátima and Luzia Valentina Modolo, our team brings together expertise in organic synthesis, plant physiology, biochemistry, theoretical chemistry, biology, agronomy, microbiology, and biotechnology. By integrating these diverse fields, we tackle pressing health and global agricultural challenges. Together, we are dedicated to developing innovative, science-driven solutions with meaningful real-world impact.
